Hollis Snyder grew up in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and started playing the piano at the age of 5. She started under the direction of her mother, Marilynn Snyder. In high school she took lessons from Master Teacher Gwendoline Harper of Cheney, Washington. After high school she attended to University of Montana and received a Bachelor's of Music with an emphasis in Pedagogy. Hollis began teaching in 1980 under the direction of Marilynn Snyder. She moved to the Gallatin valley in 1993 and has had a studio in the valley since then. She has a busy home studio in Belgrade, Montana. She studies and works on her own repertoire and takes quarterly lessons from a master teacher several times a year. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and her dogs.
